The section on ‘Publications’ introduces the Coffee Table book ‘India and the UAE: In Celebration of a Legendary Friendship’, which was authored by Venu Rajamony during his tenure as Consul General of India in Dubai from 2007-2010. The book, published in English in Dubai in February 2010, was subsequently translated into Malayalam in 2013 and Arabic in 2014. The one-of-a-kind book is the most authoritative account of India-UAE relations available. The full text of the English version is provided on the website for readers’ reference.
This section includes an Electronic Art Catalogue – Art Heritage of Rashtrapati Bhavan: A Selection, from the website www.presidentofindia.nic.in which was researched and compiled by Venu Rajamony with the assistance of Ms. Ruchi Kumar, Research Assistant/Assistant Curator, National Gallery of Modern Art.
Also included in this section are three portfolios published by Lalit Kala Akademi on the Rashtrapati Bhavan art collection with text co-authored by Venu Rajamony and Ruchi Kumar.
The section on ‘Academic Work’ provides details of the monograph that Venu Rajamony authored as Asian Foundation Fellow at the Centre of Strategic and International Studies in Washington D.C. from 2001-2002. Titled ‘India-China-US Triangle – A soft balance of power in the making’, the monograph has since been translated into a number of languages and widely referenced across books and scholarly publications. A brief review of the Monograph by eminent strategic analyst Dr. C. Raja Mohan, Director, Carnegie India, is provided along with links to references to the Monograph in various books and journals.
This section also provides full text of a scholarly article titled ‘India and the UAE, expanding frontiers of political and diplomatic relations’ authored by Venu Rajamony in the book, India’s political and foreign relations with the Gulf Region, edited by Dr. A.K. Pasha of the Gulf Studies Programme, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. The article traces diplomatic relations between India and UAE from pre-independence period till 2007 and charts the evolution of relations between the two countries through high level visits from both sides.
The section on ‘Journalism’ includes details of news reports filed by Venu Rajamony when he served as Staff Correspondent of the Indian Express in Kochi from 1983-86 as well as copies of publications he edited and published during his stints at the Embassy of India in Beijing; the Embassy of India in Washington D.C. and as Consul General of India in Dubai. These publications were was called ‘JinriYindu’ (Chinese language) or ‘Today’s India’, ‘India Review’ and ‘India Matters’respectively.
